Rev. Roger Dale Price Sr., beloved husband, father, brother and friend. Born July 28, 1948 – went to heaven on June 6, 2019.

He was preceded in death by, mother Mary Inez Price; father William Chester Price; sister Mary Jean Price, brother Edward Franklin Price and two grandchildren. He is survived by wife Barbara Jane Price; daughter Julie RaChell Moore; son Roger Dale Price Jr.; granddaughters: Jessica RaChell Sellers, Brooklyn Che’ Hutchin, Tiffany Shayne Moore and Alexis Renee Hubbard; grandsons: Roger Dale Price lll and Makalub Shawn Andersen Price.

He was called to serve his country on March 5, 1969 and honorably discharged on March 1, 1975 at the rank of E-4. During his service in Vietnam, he was trained as a sniper and nominated as ” soldier of the month.” He was wounded in battle and after his service in Vietnam he returned to the states to train the Army Rangers and paratroopers . He was saved by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Easter 1976 and called to preach 30 days later. He started his career in law enforcement in 1981 with the Shelby County Sheriff’s department reserves. He graduated from the Alabama Law Enforcement Academy at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1984, after which he became a full-time officer and then Chief of Police in Maplesville and then in 1990 went on to join the Montevallo Police Department serving under Chief Allen Needham and then retired from Montevallo Police Department in 1999 as a patrol sergeant.
