The Backwood Gospel Fest will be held May 18 at 3 p.m., hosted by Evangelist Robert Binion and Natasha Wilson.

Binion said this is his first time to hold the outdoor event.

“I am getting ready to do some tent revivals all over the state, and we are spearheading this fundraiser like a Gospel Fest … and also some souls may get saved,” Binion said.

Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $15 if purchased on-site at the time of the event. Those 12 years old and younger can attend for free.

To purchase tickets, contact Tommie Lee Brown at 334-430-6920.

The event will feature a number of music groups: Shiloh Spirituals, Highly Favored, Predestined, Montgomery Family, Duke and Anointed Voices, Anointed Posey Sisters, Mark Shank and Soul Survivors, Renew, Christian Harmonizers, Heavenly Stars, Holloway & Drake, New Direction, A2G and New Beginning.

Binion said there are also some music groups coming from out-of-state.

A variety of vendors will also be on-site.

The event will be held at 3037 County Road 57 in Verbena.
