Mary Catherine (Katy) Johnston Scott, 81, of Clanton, AL, died Friday, May 3, 2019, at South Haven Nursing Home, Hoover, AL.

She was born on February 24, 1938, in Selma, AL, to Charles Eugene Johnston and Louise Inez Williams Johnston.

Full of joy, she loved her Lord first, her husband Carl Scott, Jr, and family.

Mrs. Scott was a church secretary for Liberty Church in Hoover, AL for many years and a homemaker all her married life. She proudly attended Auburn University and Mississippi Southern College. She had a heart of love for her family and friends and her many dogs over the years, particularly beagles (Hawkeye) and black labs (Rango, Bubba).

Surviving are her Children, Dean Randall (Sarah) Scott of Auburn, AL, Dale Allen Scott of Stillwater, OK, Christy Scott (Doug) Marshall of Alabaster, AL; Grandchildren, Deanna Rene Marshall, Adrienne Leigh Marshall (William) Bruner, Eric Douglas Marshall, Tristan Darby-Scott; Great-Grandchild, Beckham Scott Bruner; much loved Sister-In-Law, Sue Scott McKenzie of Largo, FL. She fiercely loved her children and grandchildren, and was the best Maw Maw a child could have.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Charles Eugene Johnston (Daddy) and Louise Inez Williams Johnston (Mother), her Sister and Brother-In-Law, Louise Miriam Pellman and Edward Richard Pellman, and her Loving Husband Carl Scott, Jr.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 at Liberty Church in Hoover, AL. Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bruce Terry and Pastor John Fichtner officiating.

Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL.

Pallbearers are Allen Scott, Deanna Marshall, Eric Marshall, William Bruner, Moses Adeniyi, and Buddy Sizemore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Liberty Church Missions or Liberty Church Music/Worship Fund, 2732 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Hoover, AL, 35216.
