Chilton County High School PTO is hosting its second annual Color Run 5K and one mile run/walk on April 18 at 6:30 p.m.

The route will begin at the CCHS gymnasium.

Registration is $10 and can be completed at the school office.

Prizes will be awarded for top female and male runner.

Organizers Kimiera Locke and Chanel Bingham said funds raised will be used by the PTO to pay for events and projects held for students and teachers.

Participants are showered in various colored powder at different stations throughout the run,” they said. “The powder creates lots of vivid color combinations and makes for a fun and festive atmosphere. The kids always love it … We had a great turnout last year and are hoping for an even bigger turnout this year.”

The run will end with a celebration on the football field, including music playing, dancing and photo opportunities.

A color run was chosen as a fundraiser idea last year, the charter year for the PTO, to benefit the school.
