The City of Jemison will hold its annual Spring Cleanup April 22-26.

City Administrator Shannon Welch said the city was asking all residents to have their household items out in the city right-of-way, by the road but not in it, no later than when they go to bed on April 21.

Prohibited items include yard debris (such as limbs or grass), tires, batteries, refrigerators, air conditioners and hot tubs.

Any streets the city crews could not get to during the week will be followed up with on April 29.

Welch said the annual event gives residents an opportunity to get rid of household items they want to discard without having to pay for it.

He said the cleanup has been a free service to city residents on an annual basis since about 2005.
