Thorsby baseball continued its torrid run production of late, as the Rebels outscored Verbena 27-8 during a pair of wins on March 29.

The Rebels won the first contest 11-2 and followed it up with a 16-6 five-inning victory in Game 2.

Thorsby reached double-digit hits in both games, with many of those resulting in extra bases.

Tanner Jones went 5-for-7 at the plate with five RBIs during the two-game span, while Tucker Patterson drove in four runs of his own against Verbena.

Chase Birchfield started Game 1 and allowed just two hits in seven innings of work. He was aggressive on the mound and struck out 12 Red Devil batters.

With the game tied at two heading into the fifth inning, the Rebels blew the game wide open with five runs, including a two-run inside-the-park home run to center field by Birchfield.

The Rebels tacked on four more runs in the seventh inning for good measure.

In Game 2, Thorsby struck early and led 8-2 after two innings. The offensive onslaught eventually came to an end after Tyler Jackson turned on a pitch for a two-run home run to left field.

Alex Brown, Cole Hight and Patterson combined to get the job done on the mound for Thorsby in Game 2.

Xavier Dejarnett reached based on all three at-bats with a pair of walks and an RBI double for Verbena in Game 1, while an RBI triple by Austin Barber was a highlight in Game 2.

With the win, Thorsby improves to 17-3 overall. The Red Devils drop to a record of 2-12 overall, but are still sitting pretty at 2-0 in area play.
