Senior Connection in Clanton is once again hosting one of its two annual Masquerade jewelry sale fundraisers.

The sale is set up in the facility twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.

They are generally held in March and October.

“We are having it for three days this time,” said Senior Connection director Vanessa McKinney. “Everything is $5. We started it at the hospital. (The business owner) normally doesn’t do groups like ours – he usually just does hospitals. But it was such a good deal here, he kept doing it for us. We are very fortunate to have it.”

The sale is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1-2 and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 3.

McKinney said Senior Connection has been holding the fundraiser for the last 10 years. The event is one of many that the organization puts on in order to fund the group’s activities.

“We fundraise for all of our activities,” McKinney said. “This is one of our biggest fundraisers. It has always been great. We raise money for activities constantly. It takes a lot of money to keep this place running. We like to stay active, do a lot of cooking and things like that.”

Both cash and debit/credit cards are accepted at the sale, which includes both jewelry and other items for both men and women, such as watches, wallets, hats, gadgets, etc.

Senior Connection is located at 304 Park Plaza.
