The Clanton Advertiser has been named the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce’s business of the month for January.

Representatives from the Chamber presented the accompanying sign to Advertiser staff during a small ceremony on Jan. 8.

“It is quite an honor,” said Advertiser General Manager Brandy Clackley. “We are very excited to be named the Chamber of Commerce business of the month. We are glad that they thought of us.”

The Clanton Advertiser is a member of Boone Newspapers Inc., which owns publications in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

The Advertiser has an on-site print shop and a collection of available newspapers that goes back one year.

“We love, love, love The Clanton Advertiser,” said Chamber Director Francine Wasden. “We are honored to be able to recognize them as the business of the month. They do a great job. They bring us the news every day and keep us informed. We are proud to be able to do that.”

The Advertiser has been in business for many years and has operated under different names in the past, including The Independent Advertiser and The Union-Banner.

The Clanton Advertiser has daily editions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and a weekend edition that hits stands on Saturdays.

The Advertiser also produces several special sections, including Peach Living magazine, Wellness magazine, a yearly Progress edition and others, as well as a weekly newspaper, The North Chilton Advertiser, which focuses on Jemison and Thorsby.

“We work hard to report local news stories to readers in the cities and communities of Chilton County,” Clackley said.
