The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a banquet on Jan. 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center.

The Chamber has taken the opportunity to recognize different members at events like the banquet in the past.

“We will be awarding several different businesses and individuals that night,” said Chamber director Francine Wasden. “We will award our Distinguished Citizen of the Year, Distinguished Business of the Year, New Business of the Year and others. We are looking forward to it.”

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the Chamber office, which is located at 500 Fifth Ave. N in Clanton, or from any member of the Chamber’s board of directors.

“It’s a great way to network and recognize those businesses we are with every day,” Wasden said. “It also allows us to promote the Chamber and shopping locally.”

Meteorologist James Spann, a well-known figure on televised news in the Birmingham market, will be the guest speaker for the event.

“He actually spoke for me in 2010 in Greenville,” Wasden said. “He did an awesome job there. We have such good connections with him here in Clanton; a lot of people listen to him every night. I think people will enjoy meeting him in person and listening to him. He’s got such a great story, and he’s such a nice person.”

Tickets will be available up until the day of the event.
