To celebrate Thanksgiving and highlight unity, several Jemison area churches are hosting a combined service at Jemison First Baptist Church on Nov. 18 at 5 p.m.

“It is going to be a community worship service,” Pastor Rex Kent of Jemison First Baptist said. “There will be a community choir and anyone who wants to participate can.”

Organizers are encouraging those from any denomination and background to attend the event.

A practice will be held Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. at Jemison First Baptist.

Victory Baptist Church’s praise team will also lead in worship.

Pastor Orlando Weeks of The Word Christian will be the guest speaker.

“I think it’s important that the church come together as a community to show we have more that unites us than divides us,” Kent said.
