United Way speaks to Thorsby Council
Carol Fortuna with the Chilton County United Way spoke to the Thorsby Town Council during its Oct. 1 meeting.
The non-profit organization exists to improve people’s lives in the community with a focus on education, health and financial stability.
The Chilton County United Way’s 2019 fundraising goal is $175,000, with a large portion of those proceeds helping assist 22 non-profit agencies throughout the county.
The Council approved the right for the United Way to campaign to the town’s employees.
The Council also addressed a request to purchase ad space in the Chilton County Chamber Directory/Buyer’s Guide.
The request was denied due to a failed lack of a motion.
Also approved were the minutes from the Sept. 17 Council along with the payment of the bills and transfer of the funds.
