Through The Grace of God Ministries recently lost a member of its family of dedicated volunteers to a stroke at the facility.

Debi Gibson of South Alabama is well known and loved by the Chilton County community, according to Sunday Hosch of Through The Grace of God Ministries.

Gibson was a faithful volunteer for more than six years at the ministry, where she did “whatever was needed done,” Hosch said.

“She was the most loving and caring person that you would meet,” Hosch said. “She always put others before herself, never met a stranger and always had a hug for everyone.”

Hosch said Gibson died of a massive stroke while at the ministry, an incident which she described as “sad but awesome, because that’s the place she loved!”

Several of Gibson’s friends commented on the ministry’s Facebook announcement of Gibson’s death.

“She will surely be missed.. RIP,” one post reads.

To pay tribute to the life and memory of Gibson, Through The Grace of God Ministries invites the community to a celebration service July 5 at 6 p.m. at the ministry.

Through The Grace of God Ministries is located at 75 Eighth St. S. in Clanton.

Through The Grace of God Ministries offers a weekly worship service and supplies free meals to Chilton community members who need them.
