Chilton County children are in for a Summer Blast at New Life Community Church’s summer children’s program, set for July 13-14, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The focus? Wonder.

“We will have Bible lessons and games and snacks for the kids,” Mandy Lanier of New Life Community Church said. “It’s space-themed, and we’ll be going over some of the topics out of the movie Wonder.”

Summer Blast is open to children entering kindergarten through sixth grade.

“We also have a special needs class in Summer Blast that will be available for the same-aged children with trained special education teachers,” Lanier said. “So, we have a room special for them.”

Summer Blast will feature much worship time, Lanier said.

“We’ll have a big worship time with songs that the kids will hear on the radio — it’s new, Christian music, similar to what they’ll hear like at En Fuego.”

Through the event, New Life Community Church hopes to see “lives changed for the kids here in Chilton County.”

“Everything is free,” Lanier said. “Come as you are for a great time learning about God!”
