A theft on Alabama Highway 22 on June 17 has issued a manhunt for suspect Christopher Lloyd Ray, believed to be of no danger to the public.

The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office is perusing the area of Alabama Highway 191 and County Roads 15 and 87 to locate the subject.

Ray is described as a 30-year-old slender white male, standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 165 pounds.

“Upon first contact, the subject had no shirt and tattoos across his shoulder blades and chest,” a CCSO Facebook post reads. “He was later spotted wearing a red and grey shirt with black shorts, and he is possibly carrying a backpack.”

Additional information suggests the suspect may now be wearing a stolen wetsuit, according to CCSO.

CCSO has been on the lookout for Ray since the suspect fled on foot into the woods upon deputies’ arrival at the scene of the crime.
Ray has eight prior Chilton County charges of failure to appear/pay and faces potential charges for theft and attempting to elude law enforcement officers, according to Sheriff John Shearon of CCSO.

Ray has warrants from other agencies as well, Shearon said.

Ray’s last known address is off Highway 75 in Calera.
