Pleasant Grove Baptist Church is at it again with its fourth annual Relay For Life Fishing Tournament, set for April 7 at Bozo’s Fish Camp.

It is a “good time for anybody that wants to come out,” Jonathan Varden of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church said, describing the event as family-friendly.

“We’d love to invite everyone,” he said. “Food will be supplied, so anybody that ones to come by and just hang out with us — we’ll be happy to have them.”

The event will open at safe daylight, or approximately 5:30 a.m., and will conclude around 2 p.m.

A barbecue and chips lunch will be provided.

Although check-in is required at Bozo’s, boaters can “put in” their vessels at other marinas.

Participation is $110 per boat.

Prizes include $2,000 to the first place winner and $200 each to the high school winner and parent/child winner.

In addition to these, there will be door prizes and a Big Fish Prize, which will equal the sum of $10 per participating boat.

“We’re just there to fellowship,” Varden said. “Whatever comes out of it, we’re happy to get it — if it’s a dollar or if it’s $10,000.”

To pre-register, complete a registration form (available at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church) with a check payable to PGBC. Names and addresses of participants should be included.

Submissions can be dropped off at Premier Pawn and Pistol in Jemison or mailed to 720 Collum Street, Jemison, AL 35085.

Bozo’s Fish Camp is located at 525 County Road 402 in Shelby County.
