The Chilton County Humane Society is looking for sponsors for its annual Bark in the Park.
Board members discussed plans for the upcoming event during a meeting on Sept. 13.
The deadline for sponsorships and discounted price for vendors is Oct. 1.
A variety of sponsorship levels are available: Gold Sponsor at $500, Silver Sponsor at $350 and Bronze Sponsor at $200.
Gold sponsors will be given a large logo on the T-shirt, a 10×10-foot booth space and six T-shirts. Silver sponsors receive a medium logo on the shirt, a 10×10-foot booth space and four T-shirts. Bronze sponsors will be given a small logo on the T-Shirt, 10×10-foot booth space and two T-shirts.
For more information on becoming a sponsor, contact board president Katherine Reece at 205-294-2197 or board member Kristi Hyche at kristi.cchs@gmail.com or 205-299-6072.
Vendors can register for $30 until Oct. 1. After Oct. 1, the price will increase to $50. Those interested in being a vendor or simply renting a booth space can email Hyche at kristi.cchs@gmail.com.
The Humane Society is also looking for someone who can donate an enclosed event tent for the band before their performance.
Bark in the Park T-shirts featuring a Halloween scene designed by local artist Diana Hiott will go on sale Oct. 7. Reece said the design is one that will get worn a lot, giving sponsors good advertising.
“Diana’s art is really popular in the area,” Reece said.
Bark in the Park will be Oct. 21 at Goose Pond park from 2 to 7 p.m.
Also during the meeting, the board discussed current finances.
The Humane Society has $7,700 in its bank accounts. The shelter board voted to close one of its accounts at a bank that had been bought out and transfer funds to another existing account.
In addition to donations and fundraising, the Human Society receives $11,500 from the city of Clanton, $1,500 from the city of Jemison and $875 from the town of Thorsby. Reece said she would be sending out invoices to receive the funds in October.
The shelter’s Spay and Neuter program has been successful. Reece reported that the Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic that the Humane Society uses for the program was asking for $2,000 toward the organization’s voucher account because it is approximately the amount that is the shelter’s portion each month. Reece said she would get with the board’s treasurer, who could not attend the meeting, and see if there were enough funds to do this. The shelter’s account with the clinic is down to $1,800.
