Peach Jam is back.

When rain dashed hopes of having the annual event this June, organizers began talking about having the event another time.

Peach Jam Revisited will be Sept. 1 from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

Christina Wilkins with the Chamber of Commerce said the organization chose this date to conflict with as few football games as possible.

“We are excited about having the opportunity to make it up to the people of the county and the vendors and everyone who comes,” Wilkins said. “We think it is something that people really enjoy.”

Vendors who had paid for a spot at the rained-out event can participate at Peach Jam Revisited without an added cost.

“We want to cement our relationship with our vendors,” Janice Hull, executive director of the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce, said.

Peach Jam sponsors will also be involved in this modified event. The event will still be free to attendees.

“We are going to have it in the streets of Clanton,” Wilkins said.

This change returns the event to where it had been held before it moved to Clanton City Park. Wilkins said several are excited about returning to this historic location for the event.

Food vendors will likely line the courthouse square. Entertainment is being scheduled for the downtown stage. Wilkins said there will be details on who will be performing closer to the event. Inflatables are also expected.

Peach Jam T-shirts will be available at the Chamber’s booth for $8.

Some downtown businesses will be partnering with the event by granting attendees access to their restrooms.
