CCR report presented to Thorsby Council

Thorsby Public Works Director Terry Jackson presented his CCR (Consumer Confidence Reports) during the Town Council meeting on Jan. 23.

According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency website, the information involved in the report provides Americans with knowledge about the quality of their drinking water at the local level.

The EPA requires community water systems to deliver a report to their customers on an annual basis.

The Town of Thorsby also announced a pair of job openings for a grade 2 water operator and grade 1 wastewater operator.

Installing cameras around Richard Wood Park was an idea that was introduced and discussed by the Council members. The discussion will be brought up again at a future meeting.

Old news on the agenda involved further talks about the maitenence associated with the town’s limb truck.

The Council decided to continue with servicing the truck until a plan is decided upon.

In other news from the meeting, the Council:

  • Councilwoman Chasity Chapman was appointed to the planning commission board.
  • Approved the minutes from the previous meeting on Jan. 10.
  • Approved the minutes from the Parks and Recreation meeting on Jan. 8.
