The election results are in after a long day of voting on Tuesday.

Citizens in Chilton County have made their voice heard, and the results (minus provisional ballots) are:

Incumbents Allen Caton, Joe Headley, Greg Moore and Joseph Parnell will serve another term as County Commissioners.

The newly elected County Commissioners are Jimmy Hardee, Steve Langston and Matt Mims.

The Advertiser reached out to all the candidates after the unofficial election results came in.

Joseph Parnell

“I’m grateful to the people of Chilton County for showing the confidence in me … and I’m looking forward to working … in the new commission in the next four years to try to bring Chilton County to where we need to be,” said Parnell. “I want to work really hard on economic development … I think that’s the most important thing we have going on right now.”

Matt Mims

“I’d like to thank all of my supporters and tell everyone I look forward to serving this county,” said Mims.

Greg Moore

“I’m tickled to death. I worked hard for this,” said Moore. “I love working for the people of this county and working to make this county great. I’ll continue to do what’s best for the county and do it right.”

Joe Headley

“I feel good about it. I’d like to thank all the folks in the county that are letting me do this. Without the voters of the county, I couldn’t serve and I’m thankful for them,” said Headley.

Allen Caton

“I’m just proud of the people in this county, because I feel like this commission has done a good job and worked hard for the people of this county,” Caton said. “The county sees the progress.”

“All I asked was for people to allow me to do what I’ve done for the last 10 years, which is work for them,” Caton said.

Jimmie Hardee

“I’ve overcome a lot of hurdles in the last 15 years to get everything in order,” Hardee said. “The people of Chilton County have believed in me and I hope to serve them with integrity.”

Robrt Binion

“They want to keep it close-knit, and they just don’t want to change,” Binion said. “It’s not the end of the world. It’s just one of those things.”

Binion garnered the least amount of votes, while Bobby Agee was 614 votes behind Langston for the final commission seat.

Langston and Agee were not available to comment by phone before press time.
