Katherine Lynn Mims Wheat, age 55, of Clanton, passed away Saturday, July 30 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

She was born in Clanton on June 11, 1961, the daughter of the late Ross Mims and the late Eunice Wyatt Mims.

She was an owner/operator of Southern Vinyl Supply.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Wheat of Clanton; daughter, Kimberly (Curtis) Lewellen of Clanton; grandchildren, Brook Lewellen of Clanton, Anna Lewellen of Clanton, and Kate Lewellen of Clanton; sister, Connie (Jacob) Fowler of Clanton; aunt, Sara Dean Mims of Clanton; niece, Shavon Ellison of Clanton; and great-nephew, Joshua Shelly of Clanton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Eunice Mims; and brother, William Ronald Mims.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Temple Assembly of God Church Cemetery with the Rev. Royce Ellison officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.

The family requests that everyone dress in casual attire, preferably Alabama Crimson Tide apparel, as this was the request of Mrs. Wheat.
