Lake Mitchell Home Owners and Boat Owners announced that Drake Jones and Kelly Garrett are this year’s scholarship winners.

Each winner was awarded $2,000.

Drake is a 2016 graduate of Chilton County High School. He will attend the University of Montevallo where he will major in biology. He plans to become a teacher.

Garrett graduated from Jemison High School and will attend the University of Montevallo. She will pursue a degree in nursing.

Lake Mitchell HOBO thanked all of the students who applied.

This is the eighth year that Lake Mitchell HOBO has awarded scholarships to students from Chilton or Coosa County. Lake Mitchell HOBO is looking forward to taking applications beginning this fall for the 2017 scholarship.
