Three positions have been posted online for those interested in applying for a job at St. Vincent’s Chilton.

“Everything is coming right along,” hospital administrator Suzannah Campbell said. “I would encourage folks to go ahead and apply for those. Our goal right now is to get the three positions filled so that those directors can begin forming their team.”

Campbell said the three positions available right now include director of nursing, director of imaging services and director of surgical services.

Interested applicants can find the descriptions of the positions as well how to apply for the positions at www.stvhs.com/careers.

Other available positions will be posted within the next couple of months, and Campbell said it is best to check the website frequently.

“We were fielding a lot of calls and questions about positions, so we created an email address where people could go ahead and upload their resumes,” Campbell said. “As more positions are posted on the website though, it will be best for people to check the website and apply for a position listed on the website. If people are serious about a job, they can just check the website.”

The hospital could bring close to 90 new jobs.

The e-mail address for those interested in sending a resume is chiltoncountyrecruitment@stvhs.com.

Although an exact date has not been set, Campbell said she hopes to have a job fair sometime in the spring where representatives from St. Vincent’s will either come to Jefferson State Community College or the hospital campus and let individuals apply for positions in person.

“I have also been getting a lot of inquiries into housekeeping positions and food positions,” Campbell said. “Some of the individuals have said they don’t have computer access to be able to fill out an application for those positions. We do have some paper applications available. Touchpoint is the company that we partner with, and they provide food services and housekeeping so if someone needs to fill out a paper application, we do have that option.”

Campbell said right now, the main question everyone has is when will the hospital be open.

“There were some rumors circulating that we were opening Aug. 1,” Campbell said. “Although everything is progressing right on schedule, once the construction of the hospital is complete there will still be steps that we will have to go through before we can open. By the end of March, we will be publicizing an opening date with opening ceremonies, but the time frame of when the hospital will open will still be this fall.”
