Mt. Carmel No. 1 Baptist Church

It was such a glorious day in God’s house. Our morning service started with Libby Warren playing “Oh Christmas Tree” for our penny march. The offering that was collected from our penny march from May through December will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

The money collected from January through April is designated for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. We appreciate all that is given to these offerings.

Kaitlyn Burnett did an amazing job signing to the song “Oh the Blood of Jesus.” There is a message delivered each time she presents an interpretation of a song.

Bro. Travis Burnett used Genesis 1:1-2 to bring us the first of a two-part message about “The Beginning.”

Even in this time of numerous ways man has to obtain knowledge, as they are still trying to explain how things got started. If they would only look into the Bible and read the first four words of Genesis, they would find the answer – In the beginning God.

Belief in those four words is a must if you are going to believe that the rest of the Bible is true. In these scriptures we can find eternal value, and value that is without end or beginning.

Before anything, God was. A good father oversees and lays a foundation for his family and will see it through to the finish. He does this whether times are good or bad.

God is all knowing and his presence is always with us. Some do not acknowledge and admit his existence, but that does not change the fact that he was, he is and he will be.

God is the giver of new beginnings in our lives when we repent and accept him. Without accepting him there will always be a void in your life, because there is a place in everyone’s life that can only be filled with the holy spirit of God.

On Sunday evening, Bro. Burnett brought us the second part of God’s message from Genesis 1:1-2. The scriptures are a source of everyday value. Whatever your ministry, you need to made a new start each day with God, not on our own.

We only have each day because of God; therefore we need to start it with him. Without the spirit of God within us we can do nothing. When the Spirit of God is moving, new beginnings will occur. You will want to worship and be with God’s people. Putting God in the beginning will be the start of growth in your life.

Children’s play practice will be on Saturday at 4 p.m. Sunday morning; the choir will be presenting special Christmas music. Sunday evening at 5 p.m., the children will have a special presentation of the Christmas story. Please bring your favorite finger food and join us for a time of fellowship following the children’s presentation.

There are several special prayer needs in our church. Our prayer list includes Pat Hayes, Phyllis Cofer, Leona Liveoak, Jenny Hayes, Jennifer Watley, Mary Dean Higgins, Gladys Franklin, Mary Maudlin, Elladene Mims, Hilda Cary, George Campbell, Minnie Childress, Grant Franklin, Ruthie Jean Giles and Tammy Harmon.

Calvary Independent Baptist Church

Calvary Independent Baptist Church wanted to thank everyone who attended services this past week.

Sunday morning services included a message from Romans 5:1-11 entitled “Four Things We Can Have in Christ”. We also looked at “Peace With God,” “Provision in Grace,” “Persecutions That Will Not Prevail” and “Promises of Glory.”

Christ wants to be your help today for salvation and for service. Are you trusting in Christ and his promises that are found in his word for us today?

Sunday night services included a message from Luke 24:36-53 on “Lord Help Our Understanding.”

We looked at knowing Gods will, knowing Gods word, doing the work of God and when we are involved in these three, we know we are in the will of God for our lives.

Are you sure of your salvation and faithful in service while doing the good work that God has called you unto? We hope you are saved and faithfully serving him. If you are in doubt of salvation or in need of a place to learn and grow in the word of God, we would love for you to visit with us this Sunday.

Come visit the place where faith and fellowship meet. We are located in south Clanton just past Dollar General right off U.S. 31 on Fulmer Drive.
