Downtown Clanton will soon be the home of a new Christian bookstore.

Sylvia Robinson, owner of My Time Christian Bookstore, is looking forward to opening her doors in late January 2016.

This will be Robinson’s second location, with the original My Time store located in Monroeville.

“Eight years ago, the Lord impressed on me to open a bookstore,” Robinson said. “We started with nothing but a building and faith. Opening this new location in Clanton is just a continuation of what God impressed on me to do. It’s a miracle from God.”

Robinson will carry a large supply of Bibles for both adults and children in many translations. She will also offer reference books, pastor help books, biographies, children, marriage and family books, along with Dayspring cards and lots of gift items.

“We have a lot of gift items with scriptures,” Robinson said. “We offer beautiful woven tapestries, wall hangings and throws. We also have handmade baby afghans and blankets, baby gifts, wedding gifts, DVDs, music and more.”

Robinson will also provide a large selection of church supplies, children’s lesson plans and church bulletins.

In addition to the many products being offered by My Time, the store is also an authorized distributor of Melissa and Doug, an American company offering educational and classic wooden toys, crafts and games. Robinson said their products are popular among her clients.

In a world full of online book giants and fast-paced technology, My Time Christian Bookstore stands out with a personal touch and knowledge of products.

“I am a one-on-one, face-to-face person,” Robinson said. “Call me old school, but I like to be hands-on. That’s how we try to serve.

“We also hope to provide a convenience where people don’t have to drive far to have their needs met, and we hope to benefit the community with the Word of God.”

My Time Christian Bookstore will be located at 216 Sixth St. N., in the former Boyd’s Place building.

The store will be open Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
