The life of Glenda Carol Frith Wallace ended on Wallace Hill in Maplesville on Nov. 7.

The home was filled with family and friends and even though we knew what was happening we were laughing and celebrating the precious memories we have all shared.

Oct. 28, 1951 was a special day.

God let us borrow one of his angels.

Glenda was born in Perry County to Trester and Mae Frith and shared a home with her three sisters Mryna, Rhonda and Mary Francis.

Life in the woods would prepare her for all the adventurous years to come. She learned at an early age to work hard, how to have a good time and most of all the importance of family.

It’s been said she was always her daddy’s favorite; he even nicknamed her “Punk” or sometimes “Monkey.”

Glenda met her best friend the summer of 1966 and later married him.

Roy Wallace Jr. (Skipper) and Glenda were married Dec. 1, 1967 and had since shared 48 wonderful years together.

They have two sons, Lee and his wife Carrie and Brian and his wife Regina.

Through the years, Skipper and Glenda not only lived together they were also partners driving a truck across country for Bush Hog and later developed careers at the Selma plant. They currently own and operate Skipper’s General Store.

Glenda loved time spent farming with the Wallace family, sewing at various plants.

Spending time with her special friends Connie and Jackie. Lately she has enjoyed keeping up with all her Facebook friends and spending time with her beloved granddogs Minnie Mae, Minnie Moe and Cleo. Her dogs have always had a special place in her heart.

Glenda’s love was like an artesian well, it flowed freely all the time everything and everyone around was touched by it.

Mamaw has poured that love over all her grandchildren.

Dylan, his wife Macee, Devan, Lacee and MiKayla helping each one to see this world differently from telling Bible stories and tucking them in at night, showing them the proper way to cook eggs and pancakes so the edges are crispy or the easiest way to decorate by watching HG television.

Each one has felt her love.

Glenda made sure they each knew how to enjoy God’s works of art by picking flowers or taking fast long rides on the tracker to look for dogwood trees. Even in Glenda’s worst days her faith kept us going and the encouraging words reminded us how much she loved us. Glenda’s beautiful blue eyes were filled with peace, and she kept that contagious smile till the very end.

Glenda’s viewing was held at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home on Nov. 9.

Her funeral service was held on Nov. 10 from the chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, and she was laid her to rest with family and friends at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 2. She herself said this is not a time to cry but a time to remember her and be joyful knowing she is at home visiting with all those she has been missing.
