The United Methodist Women will hold their annual Soup Day on Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Clanton First United Methodist Church.

The event will be in the Helen E. Parrish Activity Center at CFUMC.

Each meal is $6 per person and includes hot vegetable beef soup, cornbread, dessert and a drink.

Takeout plates and homemade baked goods and crafts will be available for purchase as well.

The event has been held for more than 50 years by the United Methodist Women.

“We use the money raised at the event for missions,” UMW President Judy Riviere said. “It is just a good time for people to come out and enjoy a good meal, and it is a good outreach for our church.”

Riviere said this year there will be homemade cobblers available for dessert.

Take-out orders will also be available for schools and businesses.

“If there is a large group who wants to place an order, we just ask they call ahead and let us know,” Riviere said. “If people want to call ahead and place an order we will do that too.”

Clanton First United Methodist Church is located at 207 Eighth St. N. in Clanton.
