Chilton County High School, Isabella High School, Jemison High School, Maplesville High School, Thorsby High School and Verbena High School will participate in the Alabama College Application Week Campaign sponsored by the Alabama State Department of Education from Nov. 2-6.

As part of the Alabama college access initiative, all Chilton County schools will work with their seniors during the week to complete and submit at least one college application.

The goal of the program is to get more students applying to Alabama colleges early in their senior year. During this event, students may apply to any of Alabama’s 30 community colleges, 14 independent colleges and 14 public universities in which they are interested.

This initiative is part of the American College Application Campaign, a national initiative that is an effort of the American Council on Education. In 2014, American College Application Campaigns took place in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. All 50 states will hold College Application Campaign events in 2015.

For more information, contact Kim Benson, career coach for the Chilton County school district, at (205) 280-6105 or kdbenson@chilton.k12.al.us, or school counselors.
