The case against an Indian Springs man charged with rape and sodomy charges related to a September 2014 arrest in Chilton County will head to trial Nov. 16.

Kevin Taylor Ross, 23, of Indian Springs, was scheduled to appear before Chilton County Circuit Judge Ben A. Fuller for his plea date Oct. 14, according to court records.

Ross would have had the option to inform the court whether his case would go to trial or whether he would enter a plea of guilty.

Fuller filed an order Oct. 21 stating a jury trial for Ross would begin Nov. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at the Chilton County Courthouse.

Ross was indicted by a February grand jury in Chilton County on one charge of rape in the first degree and two counts of sodomy first degree for an incident with a female, which occurred in Chilton County around Sept. 20, 2014, according to court records.

The warrants for Ross’ arrest indicates that he “engaged in sexual intercourse with a member of the opposite sex by forcible compulsion” and he “engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with a member of the opposite sex by forcible compulsion.”

Ross was arrested Sept. 22, 2014, and indicted by a grand jury on February 13, according to court records.

Currently, Ross remains out of jail on a bond of $60,000.
