Thorsby’s junior varsity football team has started off its season with three consecutive wins.

The Rebels beat the Verbena Red Devils, 44-6, at Verbena in the season opener.

The Rebels continued putting big numbers up against Pike Road at home last week, winning 44-8.

Tuesday night, the Rebels traveled to Isabella and came away with another win, 42-22.

The Rebels are led on offense by quarterback Christian Fortner, who has completed 24 passes in the first three games for a total of 358 yards and three touchdowns.

He has rushed for 219 yards and six touchdowns.

The Rebels’ running back, Christin Brown, is averaging 10.4 yards per carry for a total of 446 yards and five touchdowns.

Brodie Barnett and Cole Farris are two of the Rebels’ top receivers. Barnett has had 12 receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns while Farris has had five receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown.

The Thorsby defense is led by Kane Belk. Belk had 11 solo tackles, including four for losses, in the Isabella game alone.

The Rebels will host Holtville at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29.
