Carl James Manning

Carl James Manning, 70, of Clanton, passed away on Aug. 30 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

He was born in Autauga County on Sept. 4, 1944, the son of the late James Fletcher Manning and the late Roberta Bazzell Manning.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his sister, Jewel Vines of Clanton; sister, Margie Hay of Auburn; sister, Elaine (Larry) Huggins of Vernon; sister, Melba (Richard) Andrews of Moss Point, Miss.; brother, Ernest (Christy) Manning of Clanton; brother, Alton (Marci) Manning of Prattville; sister, Glenda (Kimble) Cochran of Lucedale, Miss. and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sept. 2 at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Ray officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Cemetery in Autauga County.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carl’s name may be made to the UAB Palliative Care Unit, 153 3rd Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35205.
