About 50 guests attended a banquet hosted Thursday by Chilton County Senior Connection.

The banquet was an effort to thank the organization’s sponsors.

It was held at the Senior Connection facility at Park Plaza in Clanton.

“Everybody in this community is so, so generous, and we appreciate it,” said Vanessa McKinney with Senior Connection, who also thanked the Clanton mayor and city council and the Senior Connection members. “This is the best team that I’ve ever worked with.”

After a welcome by Senior Connection member Mollie Smelley, Sammy Wyatt gave the invocation.

McKinney introduced the band, the Usual Suspects, who performed jazz music for the audience.
