Shade Young Dorminey Jr.
Shade Young Dorminey Jr., 96, of Jemison, passed away on June 5 at Bill Nichols VA Home in Alexander City.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1918, in Chilton County, the son of the late Shade Young Dorminey Sr. and the late Belle Mims Dorminey.
He was a machinist for Pratt-Whitney Aircraft.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille Dorminey of Jemison; son, Donn Dorminey (Linda) of Jemison; daughter, Diane Cole (Richard) of Torrington, Conn.; grandsons, Charlie Dorminey of Clanton, Richard Cole Jr. of Torrington, Conn., Robert Cole of Hartford, Conn.; granddaughter, Maryellen Cole of Torrington, Conn.; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Judson Dorminey of Smyrna, Ga.; sister, Launeal Smith of Prattville.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Thomasine LeCroy and Lefoyle Gore.
Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. June 9 at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Martin Chapel.
