James Frank Davenport

James Frank Davenport, 81, of Jemison, passed away March 21 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on May 18, 1933, the son of the late Frank A. Davenport and the late Jewel Champion Davenport.

He was a former electric arc furnace operator with ABC Rail.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Davenport; son, David Davenport; daughter-in-law, Sheila Davenport; grandson, Lavett Davenport; granddaughter, Joy Collum; great-grandsons, Blake Davenport and Ayden Collum; and great-granddaughter, Vella Collum, all of Jemison.

Visitation was held on March 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 23, at 11 a.m. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 1 with Rev. Mark Lovett and Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating.

The body was in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Baptist No. 1 Church Cemetery in Jemison.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton.
