Ellis “Monk” Amos Naramore, 83, of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 30 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on May 15, 1931, in Walker County, the son of the late Amos Naramore and the late Jettie Mae Banks.

He was a glass maker.

He is survived by his wife, Alvis Naramore of Clanton; son, Mike Naramore of West Palm Beach, Fla.; daughter, Anita Primavera (Andy) of Creola, Ohio; daughter, Rebecca Gibson of Jemison; step-son, Rodney Jackson (Melanie) of Clanton; step-son, Danny Jackson (Mechelle) of Clanton; step-daughter, Elizabeth Jones (David) of Clanton; 20 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Morrison (Henry) of Bessemer, Marcelle Sullivan (Larry) of Bessemer and Louise Mathis of Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Jette Mae Naramore and a daughter, Cindy Kirkpatrick.

A memorial service was held Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. from the Victory Chapel Church in Clanton with the Rev. Donnie Messer, the Rev. Danny Street and Danny Jackson officiating.

The family received friends at the church on Feb. 1 from 5 p.m. until service time.

The family requests no flowers, but contributions toward the funeral expenses at the funeral home.
