The Red Devils picked up their first real lead of the match by starting Set 3 with a 5-0 run behind the serving of Kendrauna Griffen.

Facing a seven-point deficit, Ellison took over serving duties for the Rebels to lead them back to a 10-all tie. Both teams exchanged points with neither leading by more than two, but it would be the Rebels that would pull out the win in the end to put the match away and pick up their first win of the season.

Watley had six aces in the match for Thorsby, while Ellison had five aces, four kills and two blocks.

Kerri Robinson posted 11 kills, and Erica Hilyer had 10 assists.

The Rebels junior varsity team took a 2-1 (20-25, 25-22, 15-9) victory over MHS.

Kaitlyn Lowery had four aces and five saves, while Lauren Wyatt and Anna Hilyer each had eight aces.
