The Jemison City Council voted on Monday to pass a resolution renewing a loan for the Solid Waste Authority.
According to the resolution, the amount of the loan is $682,000 with Jemison’s share being 13 percent, which is $88,660.
Jemison Mayor Eddie Reed explained that each municipality in Chilton County along with the Chilton County Commission agreed to borrow money to cover the cost for the installation of a waste transfer station.
Each entity agreed to pay a portion of the loan, which was taken out on Jan. 16, 2007, and each entity would have to approve the renewal of the loan.
“This is just a resolution to give me the authority to sign a renewal,” Reed said.
The council also announced that a work session has been scheduled for May 1 at 6 p.m.
