Jackson Chapel Church

Bro. Horace Wyatt got the morning worship started off with “Glory to His Name” and “I Feel Like Traveling On.” Bro. Dennis Smith blessed us with a beautiful song titled “Master of the Sea.”

Bro. Dennis’ text came from Matthew 18:1-7. We as Christians are to seek out God for the things we need. We need to remember that God has the power to give us more than what we ask for, but we’ve got to believe that God is able to supply our needs. We as Christians have got to remember to put God first in everything we do, and if we will do this, God will bless us in ways that we didn’t even know were possible.

The service ended with several coming to pray.

Happy birthday to Carol Smith. Happy Anniversary to Jammie and Olivia Campbell.

Please remember these as you pray this week: Billy Burnett, Samuel Burnett, Roy Martin’s mom, Tommy Matthews, Patricia Porter, Brandon McGhar, Mason Pate, our service men and women and our lost loved ones.

Friendship Baptist Church

Our choir special was “Unspeakable Joy,” with a solo by Nathan Wilkerson.

Bro. Ken’s message from Matthew 5:1-11 was titled “Be All You Can Be.” You cannot find God by being with ungodly people. We cannot bring ungodly attitudes into our church. We are to lift up one another.

In the evening service, our study continued in Revelation 2: 8-17.

Happy Birthday to Alex Wyatt.

Prayer requests: Belinda Trammell, Squire Parson, Lisa Baker, Nancy Manners and grandchild, Harper; the Cleveland Turner family, Vivian Bice’s family and Gale Cleckler.

Mt. Carmel No. 1

We enjoyed a wonderful day in God’s house and celebrated Pastor Appreciation Day. We give special thanks and honor to our pastor, Bro. Derrell Jones, for always striving to follow the will of God. We know this man is a true man of God who loves his church and church family. Our choir did a very good job of singing the special presentation titled “The Pastor,” followed by Bro. Derrell’s daughter, Lillie, singing the beautiful song, “Going Home.”

Our morning message was from Acts 2:42-47 titled “Church Character Modeled After the Early Church.” Peter preached “Repent and be baptized, for the promise is unto you and to your children. Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” The Early Church continued steadfastly in doctrine, fellowship, prayer, and in the breaking of bread. They had all things in common and all believed together. The Early Church continued daily with one accord.

Come into God’s house with a praise report for God; come with a unity of love for one another, love for the church and for the Lord, praising God and having favor with all the people.

Before closing in prayer, Bro. Hershel Scott presented Bro. Derrell with a card of appreciation and a gift from the church. A bountiful lunch was served and enjoyed by all.

On Sunday evening, Bro. Derrell preached from Hebrews 11: 4-10. His sermon was titled “When Does Faith Pay?” When the storms are raging, when life’s storms come, when sickness comes, when we confess our sins and trust God for the first time in our lives, faith pays. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. We must fix our eyes on Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith.

Sue Davenport will be looking for all the Prime-Timers to come to her home for fun, food, fellowship and fishing on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. Bring your fishing pole. Our Prayer Walk at the church each Thursday at 4 p.m. We will be looking for you.

Trevor Coffer invites everyone to attend his Eagle Court of Honor and the rededication ceremony for the old Rasberry Family Cemetery on Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. In the event of bad weather, the ceremony will be held at Mt. Carmel Church. Join us as we celebrate the Lord Jesus in praise and worship. See you Sunday.
