Christmas Festival to feature more than 50 vendors

In addition, free activities included in the ticket price will be held both days.

On Saturday, a Christmas Sweater Contest will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Cash prizes will be awarded for Best Christmas Sweater and Gaudiest Christmas Sweater.

Magic Moe’s Magic Show will take place at noon.

Seth Evans will perform magic tricks and sell items needed for magic tricks at his booth.

“My 12-year-old grandson has been a professional magician for three years,” Rotary Club treasurer Denise Evans said. “He’s going to do a variety of magic tricks.”

Dinner in Santa’s Workshop and a holiday table manners class for children will be held at 1 p.m.

“We’re going to set up a dinner table just like you would expect to see a table set for Christmas dinner,” Evans said. “One of Santa’s elves will be there. That should be lots of fun, I think.”

A Holiday Cooking Secrets session by Dak’s Spices is scheduled for 2 p.m., followed by a pageant workshop led by the 2013 Peach Queens at 3 p.m. and an “Update Your Look” hair and makeup workshop at 4:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the activities schedule is: Magic Moe’s Magic Show, 1 p.m.; Dinner in Santa’s Workshop and holiday table manners class at 2 p.m.; Magic Moe’s Magic Show at 3 p.m.; and How to Sell Your Crafts on the Internet led by Denise Evans at 4:30 p.m.

The festival will be held at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 7 and noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 8.

“All the money we raise goes right back into the community,” Evans said. “We made an effort to have a wide variety of products and services at this festival, and so I think we’ve got a good mixture. We really do have something for everybody.”
