Panthers run away from Jefferson

Jemison’s girls basketball team improved to 4-1 with a 42-24 win over Jefferson Christian on Nov. 23.

The Panthers outscored Jefferson 20-4 in the second quarter to blow open an 11-all tie.

Laura Vinzant scored a team-high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds. Cassani Steele posted a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

JHS built a 29-8 halftime lead over Vincent and went on to a 43-24 win.

Steele had another double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds to go along with three steals. Jessica Paschal chipped in 15 points and five steals.

The Panthers fell to American Christian, 49-41, on Nov. 22.

Vinzant paced the Jemison attach with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

Paschal scored 10 points, including two 3’s. Steele had eight points and 10 rebounds.

Jemison’s boys team fell to American Christian, 53-39, on Nov. 22.

Julian Lucas scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers.

Tremon Bryant had nine points and three assists.
