All city and town halls in Chilton County will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Maplesville Town Hall will close for the holiday at noon on Wednesday.

Because of the early closure Wednesday, town officials decided to extend the deadline for applicants for the Toys for Kids program. The deadline, which was originally set for Wednesday, has been extended to Dec. 2, town clerk Sheila Haigler said.

The Chilton County Courthouse will also be closed Thursday and Friday.

Chilton County Schools are closed Wednesday through Friday.

Jefferson State Community College is closed Thursday and Friday.

The holiday closings will affect garbage pick-up in some municipalities.

Clanton residents should have their containers at the road one day earlier than usual.

Maplesville will collect garbage on Wednesday instead of Thursday.

Jemison and Thorsby trash pick-up will not be affected.
