Bobby Earl Jones, 78, of Jemison, passed away on Nov. 21 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Jemison on Sept. 2, 1935, the son of the late Charles Donald Jones and the late Sarah Nell Reynolds Jones.

He was retired from the railroad.

He was also a former truck driver for AAA Cooper Trucking.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie D. Jones of Jemison; daughter, Sarah Ramona Jones of Vestavia; son, Gregory Earl Jones (Cheryl) of Chelsea; grandchildren, Christopher Earl Jones, Crystal Jane Jones, Harris Lake Smith III, Sarah Hardin Smith and Justus Charlton Smith; sister-in-law, Dianne D. Mayo (Frank) of Kinston and brother-in-law, Phillip Doubleman (Sandi) of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Visitation will be held Nov. 25 from 5-7 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. from Jemison First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Kent officiating.

Masonic graveside services will be held following the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville.

The family requests no flowers but encourages memorial contributions be made to the Jemison First Baptist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 760 Jemison, AL 35085.
