Charles Lynn Avery, 68, of Jemison, passed away on Sept. 1 at his residence.

He was born in Walker County on April 9, 1945, the son of the late D.M. Avery and the late Iris Marler Avery.

He was a heavy equipment operator with Superior Products.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Avery of Jemison; son, David Avery (Wendy) of Jemison; son, Keith Avery of Jemison; grandchildren, Cody Avery, Chase Avery and Cameron Avery; sister, Betty Sheffield of Dothan; sister, Jo Ann McClemore of Missouri and sister, Jean Loggins of Crossville, Tenn.

Visitation was on Sept. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services were held on Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
