Phebia Louise Porter, 86, of the Union Grove Community in Jemison, passed away on Aug. 26.

She was born in Shelby County on Nov. 16, 1926, the daughter of the late John Horace Bozeman Sr. and the late Clara Bell Wheeler Bozeman.

Porter along with her late husband, C.I. owned and operated Porter’s Truck Stop at Interstate 65 Exit 219 in Jemison for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Manasco (Earl) of Jemison; daughter, Sheree Tate (Ronnie) of Thorsby; grandson, Jeff Manasco (Mirna) of Jemison; great-granddaughter, Shanda Manasco of Jemison; sister, Lee Roper of Kansas; brother-in-law, James Porter (Ann) of Jemison; sister-in-law, Delene Littleton of Jemison; sister-in-law, Doris Porter (George) of Jemison, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, C.I. Porter; parents, John Horace and Clara Bell Bozeman; brother, Mack Sanders and sister, Elizabeth Swift.

Visitation was held on Aug. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held on Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. from the Burning Bush Church with the Rev. Wade Adkins officiating.

Burial followed in the Rocky Mount Methodist Cemetery in Jemison.
