Jerrell Norman Tatum, 77, of Jemison, passed away on July 12 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Chilton County on July 10, 1936, the son of the late William L. Tatum and Maggie Mae Aldridge Tatum.

He was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Glass Tatum; daughter, Pam (James) Dobbs of Maplesville; son, Daryll Tatum of Jemison; son, Jeff (Casey) Tatum of Thorsby; granchildren, Heather (Scott) Jordan; Holly Dobbs; Heather Cuoio; Aubrey Dobbs; Ashley Dobbs; Trent (Kristie) Tatum; Alex Tatum; Aerin Tatum; Anderson Tatum; great-grandchildren, Tatum Jordan; Caleb Jordan; Vito Cuoio; Lilli Cuoio; Wyatt Dobbs; Jake Tatum; Weston Tatum; Brother; Silas (Ruby) Tatum of Vandiver; sister, Betty Murray and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William L. Tatum and Maggie Mae Aldridge Tatum.

The funeral service was held on July 14 from the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Jemison at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Jordan and Bro. James Dobbs officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining church cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Suncrest Home Health for all of their kindness, love and compassion shown to their family during this very difficult time.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home of Clanton.
