Clyde Manse Hughes

Clyde Manse Hughes, 81, of Verbena passed away on June 8 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on Jan. 5, 1932, the son of the late Julius Harmon Hughes and the late Anne Floy Hall Hughes.

He was a body mechanic.

He is survived by his companion, Illene Neely of Verbena; brother, Julius Willie Hughes of Gallion; sister, Iella Vance of Clanton; sister, Eudora Pastrik of Clanton; sister, Lennie Hatchcock of Billingsley; sister, Edith Seymour of Portersville, Miss.; step-sister, Louise Lewis of Gallion; eight nieces; 11 nephews; numerous great -nieces and great- nephews; adopted grandchildren, Donnie Parker, Jimmy Parker, Justin Parker, Tiffany Parker, Randy Parker and Susan Parker.

Visitation will be held on June 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Funeral services will be held on June 12 at 10 a.m. from Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. William “Bill” King officiating.

Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church 503 second Ave. S. in Clanton.
