Donald Olen Atchison, 79, of Maplesville passed away on May 27.

He was born on Thursday, Jan. 4, 1934 in Chilton County, the son of the late Marvin Roosevelt Atchison, Sr. and the late Frances Lucille Stough Atchison.

He was a manager.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Carol M. Atchison of Isabella; sons, Don Atchison of Little Rock, Ark., Wayne Atchison (Melanie) of Stapleton, David Atchison (Melissa) of Athens; daughter, Wanda Fondren (Donnie) of Isabella; grandchildren, Rachael Donovan, Brian Atchison, Justin (Amanda) Cleckler, Cari Fondren, Christopher Atchison, Summer Atchison, Zachary Atchison and Haley Atchison.

Sisters, Shelby Matchan (Dwain) of Cropwell, Alice Burnett (Brooks) of Maplesville, Diane Atchison of Selma; brothers, Doyle Atchison (Carolyn Sue) of Alabaster, Joel Atchison (Hilda) of Maplesville, Paul Atchison (Catherine) of Montgomery, Edward Atchison (Cecilia) of Jacksonville, Fla., sisters-in-law, Betty and Norma and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Atchison; parents, Marvin and Lucille Stough Atchison; sister, Frances Burt (Haywood), twin brother, Ronald Atchison, brother Howell Atchison and brother, M.R. Atchison, Jr.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on May 29 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held on May 30 at 11 a.m. at Mulberry Baptist Church with the Rev. David Bishop and the Rev. Andy Mims officiating.

Interment will follow in Mulberry Baptist Cemetery in Maplesville.
