Raymond Francis Jones Jr., age 71 of Clanton, passed away on March 26, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Revere, Mass., on Nov. 26, 1941, the son of the late Raymond F. Jones Sr. and the late Caroline Insaloco Jones.

He was a former corrections officer with the Alabama Department of Corrections and served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by: wife, Bernice P. Jones of Clanton; son, Kenneth Dwayne (Andy) Wadsworth of Montevallo; son, James Tracy (Jennifer) Wadsworth of Thorsby; son, Raymond Francis (Heather) Jones III of Thorsby; son, James William Salvetor Jones of Clanton; grandchildren: Michaela Adrienne Wadsworth, Ashley Davis, Carson Cummins, Curtis Frank Jones, Dakota Blake Jones, Garett Aubrey Fore, Courtney Nicole Jones, James William Salvetor Jones, Kaylee Nell Jones and Aubrey Shyann Jones.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 6 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane D. Ogle officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
