Leone Thomas Shields, 93, of Jemison died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Jemison.

She was born on Sunday, Dec. 21, 1919 in Elmore County, daughter of the late William Lee Thomas and the late Lillie Mae Nobles Thomas.

She was a retired education secretary.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas L. Shields of Jemison, Billy G. (Judy) Shields of Jemison; two granddaughters, Christa (Jeremy) Hayes of Jemison, Amber N. (Billy) Carroll of Jemison; grandson, William Bradley (Mary) Shields of Alabaster; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Hayes, Joshua Hayes and Caiden Carroll.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lamar C. Shields.

Friends will be received from 2–3 p.m., Friday, March 8 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Rex Kent officiating.

Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
