The 2012 JHS Homecoming Queen is senior Jill Vinzant, second from left. Vinzant’s court includes (from left) junior Morgan Lucas, freshman Kelsea Smith and sophomore Kyra Glasscock.

The Jemison Panthers (2-1) owned their field for a solid four quarters Friday night in their homecoming game against the Carbon Hill Bulldogs.

Jemison beat Carbon Hill, 69-8.

The Panthers got down to business early with a touchdown by Kevin King, and only a few minutes later, a 52-yard punt return by Randy Satterfield went for another Jemison touchdown.

The Panthers closed the first quarter with 35 points to the Bulldogs’ 0.

Jemison didn’t budge the second quarter either and began another series of visits to the end zone.

King, Kortlin Ziegler and John Underwood carried the ball in, helping the Panthers close out the first half, 56-0.

After a relatively uneventful third quarter, Jemison was on its way to a shutout until Carbon Hill found the end zone in the last three minutes of the fourth quarter for a touchdown, and again for a 2-point conversion, making the score 69-8.

Jemison's Jacob Hatch gains some yardage on a carry against Carbon Hill on Sept. 14.
