Gerald Dean “Buck” Cost

Gerald Dean “Buck” Cost, age 73 of Clanton, passed away on July 10, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on April 4, 1939, the son of the late Lonnie Lee Cost and the late Maudie Ellison Cost.

He was a construction supervisor. He served his country in the United States Navy. He served two terms on the Chilton County Commission.

He is survived by: daughter, Cheryl Ellison of Thorsby; daughter, Tammy Peterson of Jemison; daughter, Sheila Wright of Prattville; daughter, Lisa Ray of Jemison; daughter, Patty Moton of Clanton; daughter, Kelly Cost of Jemison; son, Dean Cost of Jemison; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lorene Lowery of Jemison; sister, Helen Price of Jemison; sister, Debra Davis of Clanton; brother, Robert Cost of Clanton; brother, John Cost of Clanton; and brother, Aubrey Cost of Jemison.

He is preceded in death by his parents, along with his wife, Carol Ann Cost.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 5–8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home of Clanton.
